On Point radio program just featured a discussion about placement of surveillance cameras throughout the public sphere.
I expected to hear outraged citizens call in. Not so - Support for cameras was overwhelming. Once again, the stealer of all freedoms - personal and private, FEAR, takes us captive.
I am shocked that Americans (& Britons) think this is acceptable. Hello! Personal freedoms. Does the government get to know everything we do? Plenty of folks do perfectly legal things every day. WHY LET A VERY FEW FOLKS DOING BAD BAD THINGS SEND US IN THIS VERY DANGEROUS DIRECTION?
Do you really believe cameras will just be used to catch the bad guys? Get real.
