Potentially an intriguing mystery and fairy tale.
The girl actress was terrific.
Intellectually interesting.

Yet, at its heart, it's sad to say, it was


G O R N O.

The violence was its undoing. That story could have been equally gratifying, far more gratifying, if they'd left out or minimized the overused blood and guts. The fairy tale was sooo good. 3 Oscars or not, I'm disappointed.
