folksonomies

the newest catch phrase

basically just natural language keyword tags. nothing really exciting. except everyone's making a big stink about them.

flickr and a few others allow folks to use their own language to "tag" photos and such. now there's this new area of folksonomies (like taxonomy). want to know more, just search the term. i saw my first articles on them a month or two ago - which means the terms probably been around for a few more months.
